Mikael Torfason was born in Reykjavik in 1974. He has worked as an Editor in Chief of both newspapers and magazines in Iceland as well as directing the film Gemsar which he also wrote. The film was nominated for Best Picture in Scandinavia in 2002.
Made in Iceland (Vormenn Íslands) is Torfason´s fifth novel. His fourth novel, Samuel, was nominated for The Icelandic Literature Prize and his third novel, The Worlds Stupidiest Dad, was nominated for The Nordic Literature Prize as well as the DV Literature Prize.
Mikael Torfason´s books have been published in Denmark, Finland, Germany and Lithuania.
